International Whiskey Day is a yearly celebration on March 27, to celebrate whiskey and the incredible whiskey historian, Michael James Jackson. “The water of life” or ‘uisce na beatha’ in Gaelic, is the term given to whiskey by the Gaelic language. Soon after, the name was shortened to ‘uisce’ (meaning ‘water’), and the pronunciation gradually shifted from ‘ish-key’ to ‘whiskey.’ Since then, the pronunciation has stayed the same. Whiskey has a long and distinguished history of careful distillation, dating back more than 500 years and crossing every continent. When it comes to whiskey, there’s no better way to bring people together than to share a glass with friends and make amazing memories. Today is the ideal opportunity for whiskey fans to indulge with a high-end bottle and some friends.

We will have highlighting four distilleries; Balvenie and Glenfiddich for Scotch, and Yellowstone and Remus on the Bourbon forefront. Tasting flights will be available to choose any four you care to sample.

Warm weather is almost here, and that means it’s patio season and time to mix it up and find you a new favorite Tequila or Mezcal. We will be sampling Tequila Ocho’s Blanco and Reposado tequilas, alongside the balanced smoky and sweet Mezcal Vago lineup. Tasting will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm, with several feature cocktails for the night to show what they can do to liven up some old classics and new concepts.

It’s a great weekend to get out and celebrate St. Paddy’s Day and The Hammer & Quill’s 6th birthday!!! To celebrate our anniversary, we have Keeper’s Heart Whiskey along side of us to jump start the weekends festivities, tasting their line of Irish-American whiskeys. Founded by Notre Dame’s O’Shaughnessy family, and artfully crafted by Ben Nation, the former Master Distiller for Jameson and Red Breast Irish whiskey, they show a true balance of Irish whiskey and American bourbons and Rye. There will be several feature cocktails highlighting their Irish-Bourbon blend, and the delicious Irish-Rye blend, plus a tasting of their Cask Strength Irish-Bourbon Blend. . Brand ambassadors will be at HQ from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with drinks available from open until close.

Get in the spirit of Mardi Gras and join us on Fat Tuesday, February 13th for Tiki Tuesday. From 5pm-7pm, we will have Havana Club Distillery representatives on hand pouring samples of their 3 rums; Origianl Anejo, Anejo Blanco, and Anejo Clasico. We also created two feature cocktails that will be featuring their Anejo Blanco and Anejo Clasico.
